How do I pay for parking?

We have conveniently placed kiosks in every parking lot. The kiosks take cash, VISA, MasterCard, Discover Card, and PIN-less debit cards. Please note the kiosks do not give change or take bills over $50.00.

Before you start the kiosk process, please have your payment method and license plate number ready.

Is there a maximum length of time I can park in the parking lots?

Lot 2 is the only lot designated short-term lot. The maximum number of days for this lot is three days.

I missed my return flight. Will my car be towed away?

We do not tow vehicles unless they are abandoned. It is more likely that you will return to a parking citation issued by the airport. If you call the administration office Monday-Friday during normal business hours, arrangements may be made to pay for the extra day in lieu of paying the citation amount.

What can I do about the parking citation I just received?

If your citation is due to expired parking you may simply call the Airport Administration offices and pay the extra day(s) you owe. Once we receive your payment we will void your citation.

You may also pay your citation by mailing in the fee using the envelope provided or by going to paymycite.com. If you choose to contest your citation, you may do so at the same web address.

General Aviation Questions

Why do I need an airport security badge?

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has mandated Security Directives for all Part 139 airports. Under this directive, all individuals having unescorted access to the Airport Operations Area (AOA) will be required to have airport identification badges. The AOA is defined as all areas within the fenced portion of the airport.

How do I get an airport security badge?

To issue identification badges, the airport must collect information from each individual, perform a security check, and train each individual as to their responsibilities. This entails a one-hour training class.

Classes are by appointment only, and are held on the second and forth Wednesdays of the month at 10:00am. To make an appointment please call (805) 781-5205.

Once you have made your appointment, please fill out the AOA application. On the day of your class, bring your application and two forms of ID with you. A list of acceptable IDs can be found here.

How long will it take to get my AOA badge? How much does it cost?

Getting a badge depends on how fast you clear the TSA threat assessment. The process can take anywhere from one to two weeks. When your badge is ready we will call you to let you know.

The fee for an AOA badge is $56.00, due when you pick up your badge.

I have a badge. How do I know when I need to renew it?

There is an expiration date on the bottom of the card printed in red. Your badge will be turned off on this date. You may come in 30 days before this date to renew your card without disrupted access. The fee for renewal is $15.00.

My AOA badge is expired. What do I do?

You must contact the airport administration office no later than 30 days after your expiration date to arrange for a renewal. After 30 days, you must start the process over again (including retaking the class) and re-paying the $56.00 initial badge fee.

I am no longer a customer of the airport, but my badge has not expired. Is it still good?

No, you must be affiliated with the airport to have a badge. If this no longer applies to you, your badge will be disabled. Please return your AOA badge to the airport administration office.

Do you have hangars or tie downs for rent?

Yes, all of our hangars are T-hangars and range in sizes and prices. Please see sizing and price charts located here.

We also have tie downs for rent.

How do I rent a hangar or tie down?

Please call or come by the airport administration office to see about availability. The office phone number is (805) 781-5205.

I wish to vacate my tie down or hangar. What do I do?

The County of San Luis Obispo requires a 30-day written notice for vacating hangars and tie downs. Please see your lease agreement for more detailed information.
